TL;DR

A 2-day corporate photography project with City Facilities Management Asia (CityFM.asia) focused on capturing real people and authentic culture — replacing generic visuals with genuine company stock photos that communicate credibility and trust.

How It Started

When CityFM.asia reached out, their brief was clear:

They wanted to replace generic stock visuals with authentic company stock photos that reflect who they are and how they work.

Instead of polished, overly staged imagery, they wanted something true to their people – professional, approachable, and credible.

City Facilities Management Asia’s People

Our first step was an online meeting to understand their communication goals. From that discussion, I created a custom storyboard – mapping out not just the key management portraits, but the rhythm of their daily operations: discussions, teamwork, and on-site moments that define their brand.

Planning the Shoot

Corporate photography isn’t just about lighting and lenses – it’s about alignment. Each photo needs to tell a piece of the company’s story while still feeling natural.

For CityFM.asia, we planned a 2-full-day corporate shoot that allowed us to work across multiple setups without rushing. This ensured every detail – from the portraits to the team activities – felt intentional and authentic.

Studio Setup in the meeting room for the Key Management’s Portraits

Here’s how we structured it:

  • Studio-style portraits – shot in their meeting room.
We transformed the space into a mini studio, with a clean backdrop and one key light. The large window became our reflector, creating soft natural tones that complemented their brand’s look.

  • Cultural documentation – we followed their team through daily activities. Using a portable light with a soft box and the help of my assistant, we captured moments of their staff in action – from control room setups to team coordination.

  • Mock meetings and discussions – these were intentionally photographed to show collaboration and communication.
Every gesture, every smile, every focused glance became part of their company’s visual narrative.

The extended two-day duration gave us the flexibility to shoot different departments, varied lighting environments, and the real pace of their work culture – something that’s impossible to fake in a half-day session.

The Goal: Real Company Stock Photos

What CityFM.asia wanted wasn’t just a gallery of photos – they wanted their own library of company stock photos.

Images they could use across marketing platforms, their website, recruitment materials, and internal communications. Pictures that represent their people – not models downloaded from a global stock site.

Because that’s the difference between authentic corporate photography and stock imagery:

One builds trust and familiarity, the other only fills a space.

Why Professional Visuals Matter

In a digital era where every company is trying to look professional, audiences have grown sharper. They can tell when a business is showing its real team versus a staged representation.

Professional visuals communicate credibility, transparency, and confidence. When a client sees a genuine image of your people at work, it sends a subtle message – you can trust us.

That’s the quiet power of corporate photography done right.

Final Thoughts

City Facilities Management Asia’s Culture

The CityFM.asia project was a reminder that every organisation has its own visual heartbeat.

The goal isn’t to make companies look perfect – it’s to make them look real.

A 2-full-day corporate shoot gave us the time to explore that heartbeat from different angles – leadership, teamwork, and culture – creating a cohesive visual story that reflects CityFM.asia’s professionalism and people.

So the next time your team needs visuals for marketing, recruitment, or internal branding, think beyond the usual templates.

Your story deserves to be told through your own people.
